Costa Verde holiday village and camping-ground is a small organisation on 16,000 sq.metres situated between Tropea and Capo Vaticano, directly opposite the Vulcanic island of Stromboli and the Aeolian (Lipari) islands, with its own beach of white sand and rocks and shallows abounding in fish.
The whole area is renowned for its mild climate even in the months of July and August, the very clear and unpolluted waters of its sea (having been awarded many times the blue flag "Goletta Verde" of the "Lega Ambiente"), the peace and tranquillity - thanks also to the attention paid by the Management of Costa Verde to the need for this when organising its activities, and also due to the distance from the railway lines, airports, main roads and towns.
During the off-peak season rainfall is very low and the temperature is amongst the highest in Italy, while the temperature of the sea in November reaches an incredible 24/25°C.
The camping area is divided into fully shaded sites of approximately 30m2, equipped with electric socket to CEI standard of 2 ampères. The various sectors of the camping area are marked out by paths onto which the various individual sites face and these run perpendicular to the sea thus affording each site or bungalow a sea view and the benefit of a pleasant and constant breeze. The paths and roads within the village, paved or tarmacked, are dustproof, and the tent sites are all raised ensuring perfect downflow and drainage of what very little rainwater there is, and consequently no damage to sites at all.
Communal washing facilities include instant hot water showers at guaranteed temperature at convenient times and electric washing machines. The bar area includes a reception desk, a convenience store, the restaurant with its sea facing terrace, a dance floor/mini amphitheatre, videogames, table-football and table tennis. The village has been designed to guarantee clients peace and tranquillity within the area itself as far as possible, while taking into consideration the need for
entertainment. To this end speakers are not used for announcements within the village: telephone calls received are announced by means of a special board. In serious or urgent cases, the person called is personally informed by a member of staff. Access to the beach for people and small boats, in normal sea and beach conditions, is via practical concrete ramps, and an air compressor is on hand for the inflation of rubber dinghies.
Sites within the village are within 20 to 60 metres from the beach. All buildings are brick buildings, tiled and with lofts with double roofing keeping them cool even on the hottest day: they are described as one-roomed bungalows or units Type "A" and Type "B", two-roomed bungalows/units, and cottages. They all have constant hot water which is instant and at a constantly controlled temperature during the hours of greatest demand.
Bungalows:
One-roomed units Type "A" - these are terraced and comprise a double bedded room, a bathroom with running hot water, a small covered terrace with cooking and dining corner, refridgerator, crockery for four people and bedlinen with weekly change on Mondays. They are furnished with a double bed, bunk beds in an alcove, a small clothes wardrobe, coathangers and a chest of drawers. They are designed to sleep up to four people.
Type "B" - the same but more modern, better finished and more spacious.
Two-roomed - These, too, are terraced and are composed of two rooms with a dividing slatted, venetianed door: one room with double bed, bathroom, chest of drawers, mirrored wardrobe, and the other with bunk beds in an alcove, a sofa bed (5th person), chest of drawers and suitcase stand, plus a covered verandah with cooking and dining area, refridgerator and crockery. Bed linen is provided and changed weekly on Mondays. This type is designed to accommodate up to 5 people.
Cottages - these comprise a sitting room which will also sleep two, a corridor with small bed for a child, a bathroom, small flower garden, a spacious verandah with a cooking and dining area, upstairs a double bedroom with chest of drawers, wardrobe and dressing table and a terrace. There is a refridgerator, all necessary crockery and bed linen for up to 5 people with weekly change on Mondays.
FORMULAS "VILLAGE" & "RESIDENCE":
Prices quoted are for stays of one week and for the entire group or family. Prices are intended as all inclusive for periods from Saturday to Saturday (from 4.00 p.m. on day of arrival to 10.00 a.m. on day of departure), including gas, water, electricity, all bed linen (with weekly change on Mondays), all necessary crockery, and a cleaning service on departure. This is for both "Formula Residence" (rental of accommodation only) and for "Formula Village" (half board with breakfast in the bar and the possibility of full board on payment of a supplement).There is no daily cleaning service.
CAMPING:
In the case of occasional clients passing through or bookings outside the month of August, prices quoted are daily and can go from any week day with no obligation regarding minimum stay.
Bookings for August are only made for stays of either three weeks or one month.
ENTERTAINMENT:
Games are organised and there is a baby club both for clients of the village and of the camp site with no payment required for any special club membership card.
VEHICLES:
For a first vehicle there is the choice of either a free parking space, shaded and inside the grounds about 300 mts. from the accommodation, or a paying space closer to the accommodation or the camp site. (see "Camping Price List" and "Special Directions"). In the case of a second vehicle belonging to the same group a parking place will be assigned for which there will be a charge and this will compulsorily be in the car park at over 300 mts. from the accommodation.
BOOKING and PRIVACY:
Both the act of booking and the request for information explicitly imply authorisation to treat personal data in accordance with the law (175/96) regarding permissible needs for information and courtesy towards Clients. The data collected are used exclusively in the interests of Clients themselves for the fulfilment of obligatory material required by law and in order to send out informative material to Clients regarding prices and updates, and season`s greetings. The person in charge of this is Sig. Pier Giorgio Terzuolo who can be contacted at any time to request the immediate cancellation of data being held by the Costa Verde Village/Camping-ground. The booking procedure presupposes knowledge and acceptance of these regulations and conditions and of all that is written on the official price list, in particular:
unconditional acceptance of the "Prices" for the current year, of the "Booking Conditions", of the "Special Directions", of the "Confirmation of Booking", of the "Conditions of Contract" and "Deposits" plus all mentioned above and below on the booking form. Provided there are no options conceded, before sending any deposit we would ask you to phone and confirm the availabilty of the accommodation you require on the dates you require.
Information regarding cancellation or withdrawal can be found in paragraphs
f) and g) under "SPECIAL DIRECTIONS". Bookings are made at the discretion of the management, and STRICTLY IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER OF ARRIVAL AND OF PAYMENT OF THE CONFIRMATORY DEPOSIT.
DEPOSITS: the booking confirmation deposit can be sent by postal order, by cheque, by means of Postapay, or paid by credit card (in this case it is necessary to fill out and sign the relevant section of the "Booking Form" authorising the debit, indicating number and expiry date of your credit card): payments made using Postapay or credit card are totally safe and are the system of choice since, during peak periods when consequently there is little accommodation available, they make accidental overbooking or overlapping of two or more bookings for identical accommodation and the same period far less likely.
BOOKING CONFIRMATION
Following receipt of the relevant deposit, you will receive our "Booking Confirmation" effective as a contract.
The information given by the client on the "Booking Form" may have undergone some correction on this "confirmation"
in cases where errors have been made in filling out the booking form or where the information is not in accordance with agreements made previously by telephone or with the official conditions laid down. In such cases, should no communication be received by telegram, fax or e-mail within the 7 (seven) days following the mailing of confirmation (or 12 - twelve - hours in the case of "last minute" bookings), then THE ACCOMMODATION, THE PERIOD, THE PRICES AND THE CONDITIONS STATED ON THE "BOOKING CONFIRMATION" WILL BE HELD VALID.
BOOKING CONDITIONS "VILLAGE"/"RESIDENCE"
BOOKINGS ARE MADE BY FILLING OUT, SIGNING AND SENDING IN THE "BOOKING FORM" TOGETHER WITH THE SUM PAYABLE CALCULATED USING THE PRICE LIST "VILLAGE" OR "RESIDENCE" TOGETHER WITH THE CONFIRMATORY DEPOSIT WHICH IS 30% OF THE TOTAL AMOUNT. THE REMAINING SUM MUST BE PAID ON ARRIVAL IN ORDER TO TAKE POSSESSION OF THE KEYS TO THE ACCOMMODATION AND THE PARKING PLACE ASSIGNED, AND PERSONAL PAPERS REQUIRED FOR NECESSARY LEGAL REGISTRATION MUST BE SHOWN.
30% of the full payment forms the confirmatory deposit and the remaining 70% balance in the case of cancellation, provided 30 days notice
prior to the starting date of the intended stay is given, can be refunded, minus any costs incurred as a consequence of the cancellation.
Charges relating to vehicles and (for the camping site) to connection to an electricity supply, must be settled on arrival and are calculated based on length of stay.
BOOKING CONDITIONS for "CAMPING" -
BOOKINGS FOR STAYS ON THE CAMP SITE, having first ascertained that space is available, ARE MADE BY FILLING OUT; SIGNING AND SENDING IN THE "BOOKING FORM" TOGETHER WITH THE SUMS CALCULATED USING THE "CAMPING PRICE LIST" OR THE "CAMPING BOOKING PRICE LIST"
Month of AUGUST: PAYMENT OF THE FULL SUM MUST BE MADE IN ADVANCE AT THE MOMENT OF BOOKING (see also "Village"/"Residence" booking conditions" where applicable).
30% of the full sum paid on arrival makes up the confirmatory deposit and the remaining 70% is the balance, which in the case of cancellation, provided 30 days notice from the date of start of intended stay is given, is refundable with the conditions mentioned above. Charges relating to vehicles and to connection to an electricity supply (in the case of the camp site) must be paid on arrival and are calculated on the base of length of stay.
SPECIAL REGULATIONS
The months of MAY, JUNE, JULY, SEPTEMBER and OCTOBER:
THE CONFIRMATORY DEPOSIT, EQUIVALENT TO 30% OF THE FULL COST OF THE STAY CALCULATED USING THE DAILY RATES, MUST BE SENT, AND THE BALANCE PAID ON ARRIVAL TO BE ASSIGNED A SITE ON THE CAMP GROUND (see also, where applicable, "Village/Residence Booking Conditions").
During the months of July and August no dogs are allowed.
Throughout the entire opening period of the Village-Campsite neither visitors nor guests of registered clients are allowed (whether they be relatives and friends or acquaintances and neighbours); permanent camping (that is, stays superior to 30 days regarding tents, caravans or camper-vans, with or without persons) are forbidden, as is the garaging and storing of baggage, tents or caravans (which cannot be left uninhabited).
Quiet hours are between 2pm and 4pm and again between 11.30pm and 8am. During these hours all troublesome noises, uproars or disturbances (radio, TV, engines, bikes, table games, noisy games, children, malfunctioning or noisy equipment, etc.) must be avoided.
The entrance or exit of vehicles to or from the lower part of the Village-Camping-ground (white/green bar),is not allowed during the quiet hours.
During these hours it is still possible to enter or leave the grounds by car or other vehicle, but only to and from the free upper car park (at a distance of 300 mts. and outside the white/red bar).
Communal areas and the bar are open non-stop from 8am to 1am.
These times may be reduced during low season.
- Meals, when included in "Village Formula", are served from 1pm to 2pm and from 7.30pm to 10pm. They can be taken on the outside sea-facing terrace or can be taken out to one`s accommodation.
Drinks are not included but are charged at the normal rate charged in the food market or the bar.
- In the case of rental of one or two-roomed accommodation or a cottage inclusive of meals ("Village Formula"),
these can be taken either as lunches or as evening meals. In the event of a meal not being taken one day, this may be made up for on any of the following days. Meal vouchers and breakfast vouchers are personal and non-transferable.
- The mini-Market within the grounds is well stocked and is for the exclusive use of registered clients of the Village/Camping-ground . It is open from 8am to 1am non-stop and sells at prices which are no higher than those charged in the neighbouring towns. The presence of a food market within the Village grounds is a useful convenience, but in order to guarantee a constant turnover of goods necessary for the well running of this establishment, we would invite our holidaymakers to make regular use of this convenience,and we would like to warmly thank our guests right now for their much appreciated collaboration.
- Bed linen is changed weekly on Mondays against return of used linen and is included in rental charges.
There is no daily cleaning service for the units, neither in the formula "Residence" nor in the formula "Village".
CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT:
Bookings can be made only by filling out, signing and sending in the "Booking Form".
This will be followed by our confirmation of a booking under the precise official conditions of rates and regulations, valid in all respects regarding accommodation, period available, calculation, the exact full amount due and the stay itself in the Costa Verde Holiday Village/Campsite.
The booking cannot be altered either regarding period of stay or regarding number of people.
The place booked remains at the disposal of the Client for 24 hours from the start of the stay specified on the booking form (see "CHOSEN ACCOMMODATION"). Non-arrival and failure to occupy within that time limit, provided this is not notified well in time, is read as voluntary withdrawal for which the following paragraph f) is applied.
On arrival, the client must go to reception to be registered as required by law, and to be assigned his accommodation upon payment of the balance.
Having satisfied the formalities described in paragraph e), should the Holiday Village/Campsite or the assigned accommodation for any reason not be agreeable to the Client, the latter has until 10am (ten) the day following the start date of the stay booked - stated on the "Confirmation of Booking" - to inform the management of his relinquishment and to vacate his assigned accommodation and give back the keys (in the case of a living unit) or to abandon his site and car space (in the case of a camp-site).
Only once relinquishment has been established according to the above mentioned conditions, and once the state of the relinquished accommodation has been checked, can any refund be arranged. Of the advance full payment (in the case of lump sum campsite bookings for the month of August) and/or of the balance paid on arrival (bookings of living units), the Client shall be reimbursed from the full sum paid that part of the payment that is in excess of the confirmatory deposit (in any case the only sum payable to him in the event of advance payments for campsite bookings) making no charge for the first night in cases where the Client has stayed overnight. Failure to vacate assigned accommodation according to the aforementioned terms binds the Client to payment of the full cost of the entire stay agreed as per "Confirmation of Booking" with no right to any refund at all.
In cases of withdrawal or cancellation by the Client for any confirmed reason
due to circumstances beyond his control
and provided the Management of Costa Verde holiday village/campsite is notified within the 30 days preceding the start date of the booked stay, the sum relative to the confirmatory deposit and any costs involved as a consequence of the cancellation will be retained.
In no case will the Management of Costa Verde be committed to the assignment of the living quarters or the camp site booked. The Management, at its own discretion, reserves the right to assign accommodation and /or vary said accommodation according to organisational or functional needs within the village/campsite.
Clients are not permitted any guests or visitors within the Costa Verde village/campsite. The Management, according to law, will report to the Police any person caught in the grounds who is not registered and/or declared, and will automatically debit every 12 hours (or fraction of) - and without notice - the account of the offending Client with double the camping rates (Person/Night and Vehicle/Night), the Client, in every case, BEING JOINTLY RESPONSIBLE together with the unauthorised person(s), and costs of any damage, violation of regulations, loss of earnings or costs deriving from the presence of and/or the necessary measures for the expulsion of the unauthorised person(s) from the Costa Verde village-campsite being ascribable to him.
It is severely forbidden to allow any person who is not part of the group to whom the accommodation has been assigned, to stay, even momentarily, inside the Living Unit or the Camp Site or even within the area pertaining to it.
In order to avoid unpleasant complaints, dogs are not allowed in the months of July and August. During remaining months dogs are allowed at no extra charge, but they must be kept on a lead. Dog owners are responsible for ensuring that the presence of their dogs does not in any way cause harm or trouble other guests.
The signing of the "Booking Form" and the stay at Costa Verde village/camping ground explicitly imply knowledge and full acceptance of the articles quoted above which, together with the working regulations, from time to time communicated by means of notices and posters, form an integral part of the Internal Regulations displayed in the office which, by law, regulate stays within the village.
